I am going abroad is there anything I should do?
Request confimation from us that your international bars are lifted.
Note: if you are on either o2 or Vodafone you will need a different number to access your voicemail inbox, so instead of calling Vodafone on 121 send in the UK, in say the USA the voicemail number may look like +44 7786 587399 (each mobile has a different mailbox number, this is only an example and your number will be very different to this).
Also, you will also need to change your voicemail security pin before leaving the UK. If you do not change it you will not be able to retrieve messages abroad.
You may need to do a manual roam when you first switch your handset on in the destination country, to do this, select menu options, scroll to phone settings (menu options vary according to phone so check your manual before leaving the UK) then select network selection, choosing manual from the two options, the phone will then do a manual roam and list all available networks, (international call charges apply so do check with your provider for possible charges for calls made and calls received while abroad). Save the mailbox number in your phone memory, then when you need to retrieve your voicemail, call the mailbox number, interrupt the auto message with a 9 if on VF & enter your voicemail pin (you should have previously changed this 4 digit voicemail box pin in the UK) and then you should be through to your voicemail as you would hear it in the UK, see below for 02 options.

TIP:- If you listen to your messages right through and until they have finished then they will delete automatically and so will not keep getting notifications through to you. On Orange, key 123 and follow options.

voicemail retrieval number, ensuring you change the default 02 voicemail pin from 8705 in the UK before you leave, to do this first in the UK, key 901 send, then key * for main menu following options to switch voicemail security pin to on.

The Vodafone Mobile Connect card will handle all of these but will take longer to download the large emails and you will have to consider the cost when sending or receiving large messages.
Why is there a buzzing noise when I use a GPRS?
data card? This behaviour is caused by your laptop failing to block radio interference from the GPRS data card to the rest of the device and is outside the control of either Vodafone or the original PC card manufacturer. It will not damage your PC, mouse connected to a serial port at the back of your laptop, rather than the built-in keyboard mouse or perhaps try a different GPRS data card, as different models have different radios fitted.
If you continue to experience problems with the way in which your laptop operates, you should discuss this further with your Service Provider.
